About Lavanis Engineering

Lavanis Engineering OOD is a Bulgarian company that designs and manufactures diagnostic and repair-support equipment for agricultural and construction machinery. Our products are developed, assembled and tested at our own facility. Our purpose is to keep machinery in operation.

What we do?

Electronic control systems on modern machinery are capable of restricting or immobilising a mechanically sound machine when a fault is registered. In many cases the equipment required to diagnose or address such a fault is available only through the manufacturer's dealer network, or does not exist in the aftermarket at all. Lavanis develops equipment that allows machine owners, independent workshops and authorised service centres to respond to these situations directly.

Our first product addresses one of the most frequent instances of this problem. On Tier 4 Final and Stage IV machines, a fault in the SCR or AdBlue system causes the engine control unit to apply staged inducement: a warning, followed by reduced torque, followed by a limited engine speed. The machine remains mechanically sound and continues to run, but it cannot perform useful work until the fault is repaired. The repair itself is normally straightforward. Availability of the replacement component frequently is not.

The Lavanis SCR-One Emulator is a repair-support tool intended for that interval. It is fitted while the correct component is on order and removed before the OEM repair is carried out. It does not repair the SCR system and it is not a substitute for manufacturer service.

Development and Manufacturing

Every Lavanis product passes through four stages.

Product Release Policy

A product is published on this site when development and validation are complete. We do not announce products in advance, and we do not accept orders for equipment still in development.

The same principle governs our compatibility information. We publish two categories: machines on which compatibility has been confirmed, and machines that share the relevant engine and control unit platform but have not yet been individually verified. The two are presented separately and labelled accordingly. Where a machine falls into the second category, we state this before the order rather than after it.

Development Direction

The SCR-One Emulator is the first product in the Lavanis range. Emulation is one category within a broader scope of work.

Across agricultural and construction machinery there are electronic systems capable of taking a serviceable machine out of operation, and diagnostic procedures that an independent workshop cannot perform without dealer-level equipment. Some of these situations require a repair-support device. Others require a diagnostic tool, bench test equipment, or an interface that is not currently available in the aftermarket. Our development programme is directed at that category of problem.

Coverage will extend to further engine platforms, further systems and further classes of equipment. The development sequence described above, and the release policy that follows it, apply to every product in the range.

Lavanis is a small engineering company. Its founders have professional backgrounds in automotive, industrial and off-highway vehicle electronics, with particular focus on diagnostics of machinery in commercial service.

That background is the reason the product exists in its present form. Development and testing were carried out over 3 years before the company was established to bring the result to market.
